What Projects Need a 20 Yard Dumpster?

  • Roof replacements – This is the most common use for 20 yard dumpsters around Ocala. A typical single-story home roof tear-off fits in a 20 yard. Shingles are heavy, so roofing contractors almost always go with the 20 yard for residential roofing projects.
  • Whole-house renovations – When you’re renovating multiple rooms or doing a major home remodel, the 20 yard gives you space to work through the project over time. Demo debris from several rooms fits comfortably.
  • Large estate cleanouts – Clearing out an entire house after someone passes or for a foreclosure. Years of accumulated belongings, furniture, household items. The 20 yard handles substantial property cleanouts throughout Marion County.
  • Large deck removal – Taking down a big deck or multiple smaller decks creates a mountain of lumber. The 20 yard handles large deck removal projects.
  • Siding replacement – Removing old siding from an entire house generates more debris than most people expect. The 20 yard works for whole-house siding removal around Ocala.
  • Major landscaping projects – Large-scale yard cleanups, land clearing, removing multiple trees worth of debris. For big outdoor projects on Marion County properties, the 20 yard provides the capacity you need.
  • Garage or shed demolition – Taking down an entire garage, shed, or other outbuilding fits in a 20 yard dumpster.
  • Hoarding cleanouts – When a property has severe hoarding and every room is packed floor to ceiling, the 20 yard gives you room to clear it all out.

What Fits in a 20 Yard Dumpster?

  • About six pickup truck loads worth of debris. If you’ve been making dump runs yourself, it would take you six trips to match what fits in one 20 yard dumpster.
  • One complete roof tear-off from a typical single-story Ocala home. All the old shingles, felt paper, flashing. The whole roof.
  • 110-120 trash bags – If you’re bagging debris from a large cleanout, you can fit about 110 to 120 bags.
  • Furniture from an entire house – A whole house worth of furniture for an estate cleanout. Multiple couches, beds, tables, chairs, dressers, everything.
  • 600-800 square feet of flooring debris – Enough for a large whole-house flooring removal project.
  • A large deck or multiple smaller decks – The lumber from substantial deck removal projects.
  • About the weight limit – The one-ton included weight works for many projects, but roofing debris is heavy. A full roof tear-off often goes over one ton. Ryan can estimate the weight based on your roof size when you call. Most homeowners doing roof replacements budget for overage fees.

Dumpster Placement and Dimensions

The 20 yard measures 20 feet long × 8 feet wide × 4 feet high. It’s long, so you need 20 feet of driveway space. Most residential driveways in Ocala can accommodate it if you’ve got a two-car driveway or longer single driveway.

Ryan delivers it with a roll-off truck. Gets placed where you want it on a hard surface – driveway, street, or parking area. Never on grass because loaded dumpsters weigh multiple tons.

Ryan puts boards underneath to protect your driveway. Standard practice to prevent damage.

If your driveway won’t fit 20 feet, the dumpster can go on the street. Some Marion County cities require permits for street placement. Ryan knows the permit requirements and can tell you what’s needed for your location.
